Soda + new driver = Cricket crash
VANCOUVER, Wash. – A 16-year-old boy was driving with his father Saturday morning when he dropped a can of soda and crashed into a Cricket Wireless Store.
His father tells KATU that he told his son to put his foot on the brake, but the boy accidentally hit the accelerator instead.
The car crashed into the Cricket Wireless Store at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. and reportedly also nicked the Subway Sandwich Shop next door.
No one was hurt in the accident, according to reports at the scene.

At least on a bicycle, his stupidity would likely just kill him, instead of risking the lives of others!
Oh wait - except for the unfortunate driver that hit the idiot cyclist - our laws would make him the one in the wrong and destroy his life, too.

Dad. Stop being you kid's "friend" and act like a parent. Don't allow him to drink or eat when he's behind the wheel of a car. He's too new to the game to drive with unnecessary distractions. He (and you) got off easy this time. Please wise up.

What a doofus!

As much as Cricket has yanked me around with my billing and service, I cant help but smile at this. Too bad about Subway though. I am also glad no one was hurt. This is why there are so many restrictions on teenage drivers.

We at Verizon are quite pleased with this incident. It shows people that Cricket wireless will do anything to get you in the store. Beware, the Cricket stores have "Brain Tuners" which will make you do as they want you to.
Even if you resist, you are doomed to a life of crashing into their stores as they hate those who don't buy their plans and zap you're brain with instructions to confuse the brake pedal from the gas pedal and have this occur.
Beware. :)

Verizon Wirless, It sounds like you don't know what your talking about. Its funny you think Cricket has to brainwash their customers, There is NO CONTRACT so how is that? Isn't Verizon the one that has people sign 2 years of thier life away on a phone? Pretty sure that I don't want to do that. You don't even make sense.. Don't hate on Cricket because they offer a better price for thier customers than Verizon. It's people like you that help Cricket! Thank you!

We all make mistakes while we learn! No one does it perfect. My son had a similar accident when he first learned to drive (about 12 years ago) and he went through all of what you are all posting about- the people making comments and making fun. But I didn't let him off so easy. I made him drive and keep driving. I also made him pay for the damage.
Fast forward through time and he was a driving for the Army National Guard, both fighting fires in Oregon and also in Iraq. Today he's an excellent driver and a strong leader.
My best wishes that this young man will use this as a lesson and keep striving for excellence, not let the mistake be a stopping point. And ignoring idiots who have nothing better to do than point fingers....as if the never made a mistake. His dad didn't make excuses. He stated the facts. Why don't some of y'all try this?

If this would have been a Toyota, they would have of course blamed it on the car. If it would have been a cell phone, they would have blamed it on that. Thank goodness someone actually has to take responsibility for their own stupidity!!

Wow, there are a lot of perfect people out there! I'm amazed at how much judgement and self righteous people there are. I just feel for the kid and the dad. I think it makes all of us shutter that have to look forward to teaching our teens to drive.
